{David McLean Parry} the founder of this automobile.

Before launching the Parry Automobile, David Parry
was a successful businessman who manufactured
the Parry Buggy, located in Indianapolis, Indiana. He
was also involved with early railroading in Indiana,
Ohio, and Michigan.
After his first unsuccessful venture in auto
manufacturing, his brother Edward tried, and was
no more successful than David. A son-in-law,
William Carey Teasdale, briefly took the Parry Auto
Company into the manufacture of The Overland
Automobile. This was sold to John Willis and
eventually became Willis-Overland, and later on the
Jeep.
The family was very well known in Indianapolis
society, and after his death in 1915, his wife, Hessie
Maxwell Parry continued to be active.
