Maybe yes, maybe no..........
I first looked in Elmore County, Alabama; Walton County, Georgia; Leake County, Mississippi; Harrison County, W. Va.; Hocking,
County, Ohio; Norman County, Minnesota. All mainly farmers and laborers.
The only other Census showing Good Hope was McDonough, Illinois - and I did not find much there either.
1880 Federal Census - there are two Good Hope listed - one in Sciota Township, and the other in Walnut Grove Township.
Ike Wallin is listed as a Druggist in McDonough County, Good Hope, Sciota Township, Illinois. He gave his age at the time as 39
years of age. He said he was born in Tennessee. Living with him was his wife Mary (29) (Virginia), a daughter Ethal (10 months)
(Illinois), a niece Stella Denner (16) (Illinois) and a nephew John James (20) (Illinois) (listed as a Drug Clerk).
1900 Federal Census
By 1900 and beyond Mr. Wallin had moved on to Peoria, Ill. By 1920 he was in Oklahoma. He remained in the Drug business as a
traveling salesman from 1900 through 1910. By 1920 he had quit the drug business.
I browsed the 1900, 1910, and 1920 Federal Census for both Sciota Township and Walnut Grove Township - no 'druggist' is listed
in those areas .
